Walkthrough
Scenarios
10 carts that end differently. Each one opens the demo checkout already loaded with the cart, the destination, the account type, and the sample ID it needs, so the whole path runs without any setup.
Every scenario runs on seeded data. Identity checks use fictional sample documents, dealers are fictional, and no payment is taken.
Scenario 01
The order that started this
Three mounting accessories to a Eureka address.
- ARCA/PIC Hybrid M-LOK×1Ships directStatute
- Hunter ARCA×1Ships directStatute
- MLOK Accessory Rails×1Ships directStatute
- Ship to
- Eureka, CA
- Account
- Consumer
- Lands as
- Cleared
Rails are mounting hardware: not a §30515(a) feature and not designed for manufacturing a firearm. Nothing in this order triggers the gate, so it ships USPS Priority the same day.
Scenario 02
AR parts under a conservative policy
Two AR-pattern parts to a Eureka address.
- NOXs Rail System×1ID verification requiredRetailer policy
- Low Profile Adjustable Gas Block×1ID verification requiredRetailer policy
- Ship to
- Eureka, CA
- Account
- Consumer
- Simulated ID
- Connor Callison
- Lands as
- Cleared
This policy routes AR-pattern parts through the gate until each SKU is reviewed, so the buyer sees the notice, attests, and verifies identity. The order clears and ships with an adult signature required.
Scenario 03
A barrel goes to the dealer
A PH3 barrel and a rail to a Eureka address.
- PH3 Barrels×1FFL onlyStatute
- Hunter ARCA×1Ships directStatute
- Ship to
- Eureka, CA
- Account
- Consumer
- Lands as
- FFL pending
SB 704 sends an unattached barrel to a California licensed dealer. The rail rides along in the same box because delivery to a dealer is exempt from the accessory requirements.
Scenario 04
Dealer account, same cart
The AR parts cart, billed to a licensed dealer in Sacramento.
- NOXs Rail System×1ID verification requiredRetailer policy
- Low Profile Adjustable Gas Block×1ID verification requiredRetailer policy
- Ship to
- Sacramento, CA
- Account
- Licensed dealer
- Lands as
- Exempt
Licensed dealers, on-duty law enforcement, and licensed wholesalers are exempt from the accessory delivery requirements. The order ships direct and the exemption is written into the record.
Scenario 05
The customer moved
One AR part to Eureka, with an ID that still shows Arcata.
- NOXs Rail System×1ID verification requiredRetailer policy
- Ship to
- Eureka, CA
- Account
- Consumer
- Simulated ID
- Casey Nguyen
- Lands as
- Held
The document verifies, but the address on the ID does not match the delivery address. Cleared holds the order and offers two ways out: ship to the address on the ID, or route to a dealer.
Scenario 06
Under 18
One AR part to Eureka, with a purchaser born in 2009.
- NOXs Rail System×1ID verification requiredRetailer policy
- Ship to
- Eureka, CA
- Account
- Consumer
- Simulated ID
- Riley Park
- Lands as
- Blocked
The gate reads the date of birth off the document and the purchaser is 17. California requires 18 or older for these items, so the order stops before payment.
Scenario 07
Expired document
One AR part to Eureka, with a document that expired in 2024.
- NOXs Rail System×1ID verification requiredRetailer policy
- Ship to
- Eureka, CA
- Account
- Consumer
- Simulated ID
- Morgan Diaz
- Lands as
- Cleared
An expired document is not a failure, it is a retry: the gate asks for another document. Running the step again with a valid ID clears the order.
Scenario 08
Same cart, Idaho address
The AR parts cart to a Boise address.
- NOXs Rail System×1Ships directStatute
- Low Profile Adjustable Gas Block×1Ships directStatute
- Ship to
- Boise, ID
- Account
- Consumer
- Lands as
- Cleared
AB-1263 applies to California destinations only. The identical cart ships direct to Idaho with no notice, no attestation, and no ID check.
Scenario 09
A stripped lower, any state
One SP223 Gen2 Billet Lower to a Boise address.
- SP223 Gen2 Billet Lower×1FFL onlyFederal
- Ship to
- Boise, ID
- Account
- Consumer
- Lands as
- FFL pending
A stripped lower receiver is a firearm under federal law, whatever the destination. It transfers through a licensed dealer in every state, so Cleared routes it there.
Scenario 10
The two rifles
A PH3 and an Element Hunter to a Eureka address.
- PH3×1FFL onlyFederal
- Element Hunter×1FFL onlyFederal
- Ship to
- Eureka, CA
- Account
- Consumer
- Lands as
- FFL pending
Complete firearms transfer through a licensed dealer everywhere, which is the one part of this flow retailers already have wired. This is how the rifles in this project actually shipped.
